O.M.A.H.A. hockey participated in USA Hockey’s 24-Hour Hockey Game as part of the International Ice Hockey Federation’s celebration of its 100th anniversary. Beginning in Maine on Friday, Feb. 29, at 12 noon EST, each of the lower 48 states played a 30-minute running-time game in succession from East coast to West coast. Hawaii and Alaska each played a 30-minute running-time “overtime” period with the game concluding at 1 p.m. EST on Saturday, March 1.
In each game, one team was designated “Stars” and one team “Stripes.” The final national score was Stripes 190 points to Stars 163 points. More details can be found at www.usahockey.com/24hougame.
Each participant in the 24-Hour game will receive a commemorative luggage tag.
