The 2010 OMAHA High School Hockey League All Star Game was held at the Qwest Center on January 23 prior to the UNO vs Northern Michigan game. 2010 High School All Star game photos
The first period was a defensive struggle between the North and South All Stars, but the Sourth team drew first blood with a goal by Michael Willrett, assisted by John Borman at 9:25 into the first period.. Not to be outdone, the North team scored a goal by Tim Semisch and with the assist by Kyle Conway, ending the first period with both teams at a goal apiece.
The second period was picked up where the first left off; both teams went scoreless until at 13:15 into the second, Aaron Wiese scored a goal, assisted by Alycia Noble. However, the South team fired back right away with a goal coming from Bo Duffy, assisted by Ben Macintosh at 14:12 into the second period. Just as the first period ended, so did the second with both teams tied 2-2.
Beginning in the third period, the North All Stars begain to pull away from the South with two goals scored by Tim Semisch and Josh Smith, with assists coming from Phil Ehrman, Tim Dornbos, and Michael Jurek. The South All Stars tried to battle back to take control and at 9:40 into the third, Brad Peterson scored a goal for the South, assisted by Zach Shannon. However, the North All Stars answered back with a flurry of goals coming from Tim Dornbos, Nick Hart, Aaron Wiese, Shane Bernt and with assists coming from Josh Smith, MIchael Jurek, Tim Dornbos, Taylor Nelson, Brian Norman, and Andrew Jindra to seal their victory over the South All Stars, 8-3.
North All Star Goalies were Cody Baker, Braden Convey, and Travis Tlustos; South All Star Goalies were Kye Adkisson, Tyler Fryant, and MIchael Luchtel.
