With a 3-5 record against local Mite AA and Squirt A teams the U-10 Lady Jr. Mavericks hit the road for the Twin Cities to play in their first all girls tournament, the Inver Grove Heights, MN Thanksgiving Tournament. The Lady Mavs were up to the task posting a 4-0 record in the double round robin format, outscoring their opponents 17-3.

Omaha Jr Mavericks Peewee A1 tournament summary for “Shootout in Sioux City” Tournament in Sioux City, IA December 8-9, 2007

Game 1, Omaha Jr Mavericks against the Des Moines Capitals. The Jr Mavericks battle relentlessly to a 5-5 final score.
Game 2, the Jr. Mavericks against the Sioux City Jr Musketeers. The game had a twenty minute delay while a referee was assessed for injury resulting from a mid-ice collision with a player. The Jr Mavs posted a penalty free game while skating to a 4-1 victory over the Jr. Musketeers. Game goals were scored by Ricchini, Richter, Casebeer and Schwers.
Game 3 was against The Sioux Center Tornadoes. The Jr Mavericks were up 2-1 at the end of period 1.In the second period the Tornadoes were held scoreless while the Jr Mavs put 5 pucks in the net. The Jr Mavs were victorious over the Tornadoes 8-2, with 40 shots on goal.
The fourth and final game of the tournament was the championship game against the Des Moines Capitals. The Jr Mavericks were down 4-2 after the first period. The Jr Mavericks made a valiant effort to come from behind but were not able to overtake the Capitals. The final score was 5-3 with Jr Maverick goals scored by Ricchini, Ish and Albrecht. The Jr Mavs return to Omaha with the tournament second place trophy.
