LAWLOR COLLECTS 2ND SHUTOUT AS JUNIOR LANCERS BLANK METROS

Omaha, NE | Omaha Junior Lancers varsity goaltender Jack Lawlor turned aside all 29 shots that he faced on Sunday afternoon to post his second Midwest High School Hockey League shut out in a 1-0 triumph over the league leading Sioux City Metros at Ralston Arena.

The Junior Lancers picked up the eventual game-winner midway through the second period as Noah Peyton supplied his 4th tally of the season.

Lawlor did the rest to earn the shutout and record the win for the home side.

Blake Beller had a solid effort in defeat for Sioux City making 21 saves in the narrow setback.

Junior Varsity is A Rollin’

Stringing together their 3rd win in a row, the JV squad put away the Sioux City Metros JV by a score of 3-1 on Sunday morning.

Dayson Tucker got the Metros on the board in the first period as the lone tally to go into intermission up 1-0. Assisting on the goal was Nicholas Bradshaw.

Period 2 saw more goals scored, this time by the Junior Lancers as they got on the board to even up the game 1-1 with the bomb from the blue line by Patrick Hoody.  The Junior Lancers would then go up by one with Brady Ridnour notching the goal with assists going to Tommy Oldenhuis and CJ Harding.

Brandon Waldow iced the game in the third on the power play adding the final tally to go up 3-1 with assists going to Jacob Eschelman and Brock James.

Grant Woosley had a light work day facing only 7 shots.

Collin Patrick stopped 25 of 28 on the day in the loss for the Metros.

Next games for both JV and Varsity will be this weekend as the Kansas City Jets come to town to complete the I-29 Cup series.  Currently Omaha leads this series 3-1; with 4 more games to play.

The games will be played at the Ralston Arena Saturday at 3 pm (JV) and 5 pm (Varsity); come out and support the boys in their quest for a regular season championship.
