Junior Lancers JV Improve Against Sioux City

Omaha, NE | The junior varsity team hosted the Sioux City Metros on Saturday afternoon and for the second straight game goalie Grant Woosley posted a shut out beating the Sioux City rivals 2-0.

Jacob Eshelman started the scoring with a shorthanded goal which proved to be the game winner towards the end of the second period.

The Junior Lancers battled hard and with 1:52 left in the game Grant Benson drew a hooking penalty to put his team down a man.  The Metros pulled their goalie in favor of an extra attacker to try to tie the game.  They pressured the Omaha team all the way until 1 second left in the period when Logan Mercier notched a shorthanded empty net goal.

Making 26 saves for the win and the shut out was Grant Woosley.

Will Stokes took the loss making 32 saves for the loss in a close contest.

Varsity Lose A Tight Match

The varsity squad looked to take on the #1 Sioux City Metros on Saturday looking to give the metros only their second loss of the season.  The Junior Lancers battled hard and were 0-0 through the first period.  A couple of penalties in the second period hurt the chances as Sioux City notched two powerplay goals by James Page. 

Omaha sliced the two-goal lead down to one at 9:28 of the second period with an even strength goal by Gage Barnard with the assist to Angelo Perry.

Omaha battled through the game but midway through the third period Metros Drake Beller iced the game seeing Sioux City winning the contest 3-1.
