Omaha, NE | Omaha Junior Lancers High School program announced today the hiring of

Nick Harrahill as the fourteenth varsity ice hockey coach in team history. Harrahill succeeds Alexander Euerle who resigned after four seasons as the Junior Lancers coach to move back to Minnesota with his family.

“Coach Harrahill is one of the brightest young coaches in our league,” stated

Michael Hughes, Omaha Junior Lancers director of operations. “Nick relates well to our players and

their families while the success he’s enjoyed offers immediate credibility.”

Prior to joining the Junior Lancers varsity coaching staff, Harrahill was the head coach of the junior varsity program. In his past three seasons his junior varsity teams have captured the regular season championship as well they capture the league tournament championship. He also coached the team Midwest 18u AA team since it’s inception and has taken the team to two of the three Silver Stick finals in Canada.

In his time with the junior varsity team, Harrahill accumulated a 137-25-5 (.820) record in four seasons at the helm. At 26 years old, Harrahill became one of the youngest head coaches in league history to win an ice hockey league title.

While Harrahill has earned tremendous success as a coach so early in his career, he was also an accomplished player.

Harrahill earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Nebraska Omaha with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 2014.

“I’m honored to lead this program,” Harrahill said. “The Omaha Junior Lancers brand is synonymous

with success and our goal will be to compete for league, playoff and national championships while growing even better student athletes on the ice and in their communities while representing the program and association with honor.”

The Omaha native now resides with his wife Lindsey. He is a business development specialist employed by Builder Trend.

“I’m very thankful for my wife Lindsey being by my side as we continue to grow our life together and I’m thankful for the opportunity from Michael Hughes and Mike Vlassakis and having the faith in me to guide this program.”

Coach Harrahill was formally introduced to the varsity team and parents on Saturday March 30 in Cleveland, OH.

The first round of the Junior Lancers hockey team tryouts will be on May 17-19, 2019, more information to follow.
