Omaha, NE | The annual members meeting of the Omaha Hockey Club was held tonight at Legends on 72nd and Pacific.  Along with this meeting directors gave season recaps, elections were held and closing remarks were given by President Matt Moragues.

Some of the director's highlights were championship teams as the 12u red and 10u black captured International Silver Stick championships.  The girls 14u, 16u and 19u joined a new league focusing on development.  The 19u team competed in the girls division in the USA Hockey High School Nationals placing 3rd.  Coach Sidoruk's bantam squad competed at the 14u Nationals in Michigan and finished 3rd as well.  The OJL JV team finished first in the regular season and cruised through the playoff tournament and won the championship with a win over arch rivals Kansas City Jets.  The Knights had a successful season playing most of their games in a 16u AA tournament division.  High School club saw Fremont win State along with Millard West as runner ups, Creighton Pre and Omaha Metro finished 3rd and 4th respectively.  The house divisions had great success in each rank this season, competitive teams were formed, Lincoln and Fremont were welcomed back to the league ranks and the Joust was moved back to one weekend to give the event more of a tournament feel.  The mite/IP division saw great numbers this season, the mite select players were incorporated within the mite league teams, some success with this move, evaluation will be ongoing prior to next season.

Travel tryouts will be determined within the next few weeks, traditionally they were in August, but might need to be earlier due to an application for several teams to the Central States League.

A number of summer opportunities exist for players, the house director has formed some on ice and ADM sessions along with drop in over the summer (check the website for additional information), HHC is being held for another season, helping to develop youth players, and High School Club teams are holding summer skates.

The Omaha Junior Lancers High School program announced tryouts will be held June 25/26 and a call back session is August 7 - registration will be released April 25.
