-Omaha, NE- For the second straight night the house was packed with students, parents and onlookers as game two of the State Championship Game got underway.
Millard West started the playoff tournament as the number two seed, and took an opening night loss to an up and coming Metro North and had to work their way up through the bracket to make it back. On their way they defeated other top teams and faced two overtimes shoot outs to make it to the Championship game.
The Wildcats faced a tough task as they had to win not only one game against the top ranked Creighton Prep which had lost only one game in the last couple of seasons, but they would have to do it two nights in a row - back to back.
The Wildcats were up to the task and put game one away winning 7-4 as that set the stage for game two - winner take all!
The game on Thursday remained scoreless until Millard West went up by two goals entering the third period. Creighton Prep battled back knotting the game up at 2-2. It was not to be on this night as the Millard West Wildcats scored late in the third to go up 3-2 and iced the game with seconds left popping an empty net goal to seal the deal.
