The Omaha Junior Lancers are excited to announce that two Varsity players—Alex Cooper and Gunnar Rowswell—today signed to play for the newly launched Midland University’s hockey team. 

Both Alex and Gunnar are forwards and have played for the Omaha Junior Lancer High School program for the past four years.  Play will begin in the fall and the university plans to participate as an Independent Division 1 ACHA team.   The two local players will enter as freshmen and help grow the newly formed team.

When the Warriors take the ice for the first time in 2014, the addition of a new college hockey program, led by a highly qualified coach, is expected to continue the growth of hockey across the region, bring new visitors to Fremont, and enhance the experience of living and studying at Midland University.
