Omaha,NE| The Omaha Junior Lancers high school team swept the weekend at both the Junior Varsity and Varsity levels against division rival Sioux City Metros.

Saturday's contest saw the junior varsity team blank Sioux City 3-0 with Domenic Zambuto getting two short handed goals and Zach Krauss with a goal to the short side - Garreth Rieter-Lewis had 16 saves in the shut out for Omaha.

The varsity team started the scoring early with Cole Childers finding the net 3 times with Cody Walters, Braxdan Hatch and Jacob Berkowitz lighting the lamp to round out the scoring. Joe Schuld got the win with only one goal allowed in the contest.

On Sunday morning the JV team won 4-0 with another solid performance with four separate goal scorers as Zambuto, Collin Price, Korey Ehlers and Noah Franzen popped one each with Luke Weberg getting the win and the shut out.

In the second game of the day the varsity team pulled out a narrow victory over the Metros by a score of 6-4.  Cole Childers netted two more goals along with Cody Walters and each added a couple of assists to lead the team to victory and earn the weekend sweep over the Sioux City Metros.

This coming weekend is the Battle of Nebraska vs Lincoln Junior Stars at the Ralston Arena.

February 7 starting at 3 pm and Sunday February 8 starting at 8 am.
