Free Admission - Come Out and Support

Omaha, NE | The Fall Classic High School Hockey tournament is starting to gain footing in Omaha.  This Friday celebrates the third annual Fall Classic Showcase tournament for varsity and jv teams being held at the Ralston Arena and Moylan Iceplex; admission is free this weekend.

Tournament co-organizer Neal Krauss is excited about this year’s field of teams.  “Each year we have tried to build this event, we have a solid contingent of teams in both the varsity and junior varsity divisions,” stated Krauss.  He went on to mention that six of the eight teams are all from out of state which will certainly add a small boost to the local economy.

"We have teams coming from Kansas City, Colorado and Texas, the clubs representing those states are the Kansas City Jets (Varsity and JV), Heritage Eagles (Colorado - Varsity and JV), Cherry Creek Bruins (Colorado - JV) and McKinney North Stars (Texas - 18u AA); it should be a fun, competitive weeekend of hockey," stated Krauss.

Hockey fans will have an opportunity to see some quality high school hockey as the Omaha Junior Lancers take on the Kansas City Jets Friday October 23, 2015 with the Junior Varsity starting at 6 pm and the Varsity squad following at 8 pm at the Ralston Arena and admission is free.

Junior Lancers Varsity head coach Andy Blaszak said, “It’s a great opportunity to have the boys play in front of friends and family this weekend in final preparations for the regular season starting on Halloween weekend.”

Alex Euerle an assistant for the Junior Lancers stated, “I am excited to see what our teams will bring – this should be a fun weekend – no pressure type games they can just go out and play the game and have some fun.” He went on to say, “We appreciate all of the support that the community has shown so far this season in our limited number of games that we have had at home, I hope to see the stands packed this weekend and continue that support the rest of the season.”

The Omaha Junior Lancers High School teams will each play four games this weekend and the Omaha teams will play all games at their home at Ralston Arena on the community sheet.  Get out and support the boys this weekend as admission is free – let’s pack the house and show the visiting teams what Omaha Hockey is all about!
