Most of our members know that John Drefs is married to Katie Duffy. Katie has been a long time supporter and volunteer in Omaha youth hockey and is the daughter of Bert Duffy. Bert was one of the disciples of Jake Forbes and Motto McLean in the development of youth hockey in Omaha. He was also a volunteer in the penalty box for the Omaha Lancers.

John was injured in an ATV accident. He received some severe head injuries as a result of the accident. He was hospitalized for several weeks in ICU and is now in a rehabilitation program.
