2018 Omaha Hockey Club Annual Meeting

Omaha, NE | The 2018 annual meeting of the Omaha Hockey Club was conducted on April 17, 2018.  The night reflected on the clubs accomplishments, the past season by division, lifetime membership awards and the annual elections.

Each director shared his or her season's perspective, the house league grew again this year by adding a year end banquet and added a great partner for the year end house tournament in Valmont Industries.

The high school club had another solid season.  The All Star game was performed at Ralston Arena this season and the year end tournament was very tight with Tri City and Millard West facing each other in the championship game.  Millard West fell just short in game two and Tri City took home the championship.

The travel director reflected on all teams progress highlighted by the squirt A championship at the International Silver Sticks in Canada.  

The girls hockey director reflected on the growth that the girls program has experienced and continue to experience every year.

The AAA program had a successful season the u16's bowed out after reaching the central districts.  The club will fly their flag under their own banner next season separate from the Omaha Hockey Club.

The Junior Lancers High School travel program had a good season.  The JV squad finished first in the regular season and second in the tournament.  The varsity team finished sixth; two points out of second place and bowed out in the quarter finals at the year end tournament.  Varsity went to Nationals in Plymouth MN and had a down year after two successful runs in years prior.

The induction of the 2018 Lifetime Members to the Omaha Hockey Club were Bob and Deb Walters and Jake Ortmeyer; congratulations to the recipients.

Election results for this year; in the president's race Doug Ziska won the vote over Michael Dudzinski while the only other opposed position saw Scott Miller come out victorious over Rebecca Meyer both write ins on the ballot.  The board listed is for the 2018-2019 season - welcome the new members.
