Stick Together
The Lincoln Junior Stars and Omaha Junior Lancers Hockey Teams are helping to raise money for JDRF to fund research to help end Type 1 diabetes.
Both teams have players and family members who have Type 1 Diabetes, which is caused when a person's own body attacks their pancreas and shuts down the body's ability to create insulin, a hormone that is essential to digest carbohydrates. People with Type 1 require human-made insulin to live healthy lives.
Donations will be taken at both games:
Junior Stars: Friday, February 8th, at The Ice Box in Lincoln JV game @ 6:30 p.m., Varsity game 8:30 p.m.
Junior Lancers: Friday, February 22nd, at Ralston Arena in Omaha JV 6:00 pm, Varsity game 8:30 pm
The Junior Stars will be taking donations at the Lancers/Stars game in Lincoln on February 8th while the Junior Lancers will be taking donations at the Stars/Lancers game on February 22nd. People can also donate here at the JDRF website.
