Welcome to the start of the 2023-2024 OHSHL season!

If you wish to volunteer for your team and help, please get with your team managers to coordinate. We always need help monitoring locker rooms, penalty boxes, scorekeepers, student fan section monitors, all star game, Daegan Page Memorial tournament, and the banquet.

OHC is transitioning to an electronic game sheet that will sync directly to the web and our site allowing for real time and immediate postings of games and stats. We will host training very soon on that system. As soon as the date is determined we will notify everyone who wishes to get trained on it. OHC also has purchased several IPADS that will be at each rink. They are cellular enabled so if the wifi is not working they should still function properly and be able to update games.

Last season we unfortunately had several incidents of spectator code of conduct violations. Please remember that we may not alway agree on a call that a ref makes, but we can always choose how we react. We are all here to see the growth and talent of the student athletes. Lets keep the focus on them and away from the stands and spectators.

The schedule for the season is complete. All of the coaches have access to it along with it being uploaded into each teams page on the OHC website. https://www.omahahockey.net/page/show/8103786-high-school-club-2023-2024-

Each team will have 3 pre season games and 26 regular season games. Pre season does not count towards season standing. Those games are there for the teams to come together on the ice, coaches to evaluate their teams strengths and weaknesses, and refs to get warmed up and ready for the regular season.

Again, thank you all for choosing to have your student athletes play in the OHSHL. I can't wait to get this season started!

OHSHL 2023-2024 Information

Hello!

First off, I would like to thank you all for choosing to have your student athletes participate in the upcoming OHSHL (Omaha High School Hockey League) season. We have some new exciting things happening this coming season and I am excited to see all the athletes grow both on and off the ice.

First order of business. ALL new players to the league MUST attend the evaluation skate. If your student athlete has not participated in the OHSHL prior to this season they MUST attend the evaluation regardless if they are entering the draft or already on a team. The evaluation skate is SUNDAY September 24 1:15pm at Moylan IcePlex. Please bring a black and white jersey that day. Student athletes will be instructed which bench they will be on when they arrive and check in.

This week we will be hosting our coaches meeting and once that is complete we will have more information for you all regarding the league, pre/regular/post season schedule, and other relevant information.

For those of you that have been in the league prior to this year, we are going away from the pre-season Fall Freeze tournament. In its place, we will host a pre-season stretch of games and practices starting in October. The teams will be divided into pools by how they finished the previous season. Those pools will then play each other once while practicing between games over a 3 week period. There will be no "champions or winners" in the pre season. These games and practices are there for the coaches to gauge where their teams are at, allow student athletes to shake the rust off, and let the teams settle in together. This way, each team will get an equal amount of games and practices going into the start of the regular season.

We are close to having the seasons practice and game schedule finalized, as soon as that is done it will be given to each head coach, posted on the OHC Website, and the events will be entered into each teams calendars. Please allow us some time to get those entered as it is completed by people volunteering their time for the league.

Last, ANY student athlete that was born in either 2005 or 2006 MUST complete Safe Sports training prior to participating in any team activities. This is a USA Hockey requirement, and cannot be overlooked. Link below for training.

Again, thank you all and I am looking forward to seeing everyone over the coming weeks!
