6U Mini Mites
Welcome to the 2025/2026 OMAHA HOCKEY CLUB 6U MINI MITE SEASON
Registration Opening soon!
The 6U Mini Mite program is the perfect introduction to ice hockey for young players. Designed to be fun, safe, and engaging, this program focuses on developing basic skating and hockey skills in a supportive environment. Through age-appropriate ADM style drills and cross-ice games, players build confidence on the ice while learning teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for the game. Eligibility & Evaluations
All participants must be age-eligible and have completed at least one (8 week) OHC Learn to Play Hockey season. The 2025/26 season will be birth year 2019. All skaters will undergo a brief evaluation to ensure appropriate team and practice group placement based on skill level.
Jerseys and Socks
Jersey orders will be available in the registration process. You will have the option to purchase a Jr Mavs white hockey jersey and/or hockey socks. The jerseys/socks will be available to pick up at Grover Ice during practice. If you order one week prior to the start of the season your jersey will be available the first day of practice. If you need a jersey or socks and did not get one through the registration process, please email the IP/Mite Director for assistance.
Season Information
This season runs through the fall and winter with optional opportunities offered during the month of December.
Fall season:
Start: Monday October 6th 2025
end: November 29th 2025
Winter season
Start: Monday January 5th
Ends: Saturday March 14th
Location: All Games and Practices will be at Grover Ice Rink
Games and Practices: The season will consist of a 45 min ADM style practice on Monday Nights and a one hour game focused session on Saturday afternoon.

We are ALWAYS in need of IP Coaches. Please email the IP/Mite Director, Lindsay Mortensen at ipmitedirector@omahahockey.net if you would be willing to volunteer your time.
We can help direct you with what needs to be done to coach. If you have not already coached before this must be done before stepping on the ice.
OHC IP UTILIZES THE AMERICAN DEVELOPMENT MODEL (ADM)
ADM was created with the a core design that valued practices and proper training above all else.
The design of ADM stresses that practices can and should be fun, especially if the kids are all playing together and having a blast with a game that they love. The more they play it, the better chance that they’ll love it. And when you combine a passion for the game with increased puck time, kids will start to excel at it. Play, love, excel. That’s the ADM.
While in the development stages of ADM, it became apparent that critical areas in our system were neglecting kids at a very early age. All children progress through the same development stages and certain aspects of these stages must be addressed at the appropriate points along the development curve in order for our children to reach their potential. ADM provides maximum player development through age-appropriate structure and content.
Without developing skills and certain physical and mental attributes at the appropriate time, the long-term prospects of becoming a truly elite player diminish each day. Learn more about the ADM

Each Player must register first with USA Hockey and then return to this Registration Session to sign up for the 2025-2026 Season.
