Welcome to the 2026/2027 OMAHA HOCKEY CLUB 8U MITE HOUSE SEASON
Registration for this fall/winter program will open summer 2026!
The 8U Mite Mite House Program offers a great opportunity for young players to develop their hockey skills, build confidence, and enjoy the sport in a low-pressure environment. The program focuses on fostering a love for hockey through skill development and teamwork while ensuring that every player has a positive experience. Eligibility & Evaluations
There are no tryouts to join the Mite House program. However, all participants must be age-eligible and have completed a learn to Skate/Learn to Play Hockey Program. 2026/27 season will be birth years 2018 and 2019. Evaluations will be held at the beginning of the season. All skaters will undergo a brief evaluation to ensure appropriate team placement based on skill level. After the evaluations, teams will be drafted and you will be notified of your team, coach, and specific practice schedule the week following evaluations.

Season Start: October TBD
Season end: March TBD
Location: All Games and Practices will be at Grover Ice Rink
Games and Practices: The season will consist of two games during a one hour session on either Tuesday or Thursday nights, a one hour team practice every other Saturday afternoon, and a one hour ADM practice on Sunday mornings. Schedules will be posted after evaluations when teams are formed.
Tournaments/Jamborees: There will be 3-5 tournaments/jamborees offered during the season.
Information
At the end of September all registered members will receive an email with season expectations to include information regarding specific evaluation date/time.
Jersey Orders
Jersey orders will be available in the Mite House registration.

If your player was in IP last season, they may have purchased a WHITE jersey. For Mites, they will need both, a WHITE and a BLACK jersey. As a first-year Mite, you may need to purchase a BLACK jersey only.
If you have OHC Jr Mavs jerseys that still fit your player, you DO NOT need to purchase new jerseys. If your player has outgrown his/her jersey, please continue to complete the jersey purchase in the registration process.
**All Mite players will get a pair of socks**
