Annual Meeting and Elections

The Annual Meeting and Election will take place at 7 pm on April 17th, 2026. You may attend in person at Legends Aksarben or virtually.


Omaha Hockey Club will have 4 open At-Large board positions up for election on April 17th, 2025.

These board members will:

  • Conduct the business and affairs of the corporation
  • Represent EVERY area of the association, not a single program
  • Serve as the steering committee for the association
  • Appoint Program Commissioners


Once all positions are elected and normal term cycles are established, board turnover will be minimized.


For 2026, we will have 2(two) - 3-year at-large positions and 2(two) - 2-year at-large positions up for election.


In addition, we are looking for people to apply for the Program Area Commissioner positions. Descriptions/duties of these positions can be found below. Positions that are open for the 2026-2027 season:

  • SQ-BN House Commissioner (2-years)
  • Girls Hockey Commissioner (2-years)
  • SQ-BN Travel Commissioner (2-years)
  • OJL Commissioner (2-years)
  • IP/Mite Commissioner (2-years)


Program Area Commissioner Duties

Travel Commissioner(SQ-BN)

  • Reports To: Operations Director
  • Responsibilities:
  • Assist Operations Director and Hockey Director with team formation and scheduling.
  • Serve as liaison between the Travel Program and the Executive team and Board.
  • Serves as the OHC representative to the Midwest Hockey League.
  • Assists Hockey Director with coach selection.
  • Assists the Operations Director with Coach and Volunteer compliance.
  • Attend and assist at the Travel Tryouts.
  • Attend and contribute to the Travel Town Hall Meeting.
  • Organize and assist with tournament selection for teams.
  • Coordinate with coaches and families.
  • Support travel team registration and rostering.
  • Support team managers and coaches with league requirements.
  • Assist Operations Director with the planning of Travel Tournaments and events, and attend all Travel tournaments and events.


House Commissioner(SQ-BN)

  • Reports To: Operations Director
  • Responsibilities:
  • Serve as liaison between the House program and the Executive team and Board.
  • Serves as the league commissioner for the House program.
  • Oversee the House Rules Committee.
  • Help recruit House Coaches and work with the Hockey Director on coach selections.
  • Assist and help implement the House evaluation skate and draft.
  • Attend and contribute to the House Town Hall Meeting.
  • Provide communication to coaches, players, and families.
  • Organize house league team formation.
  • Serve as a point of contact to help address scheduling issues or concerns.
  • Support communication between coaches, players, and families.
  • Assist Operations Director with the planning of House Tournaments and events, and attend all House tournaments and events.


Learn-to-Play/Mite Commissioner

  • Reports To: Operations Director
  • Responsibilities:
  • Manage Learn-to-Play and Mite program registration and scheduling.
  • Help recruit Coaches and volunteers
  • Work with the Hockey Director on coach selections
  • Assists the Operations Director with Coach and Volunteer compliance.
  • Ensure age-appropriate skill development.
  • Communicate with TIP Development regarding practice planning.
  • Work with the Operations Director on planning of program jamborees and attend all tournaments, jamborees, and events.


Omaha Junior Lancer Commissioner 

  • Reports To: Operations Director
  • Responsibilities:
  • Serve as liaison between the OJL and Executive team and Board.
  • Oversee OJL participation, rosters, and schedules.
  • Assists Hockey Director with coach selection.
  • Serves as the Midwest High School Hockey League Representative
  • Attends MWHSHL meetings and communicates findings with coaches and parents
  • Works with Ice Scheduler to secure ice for home games.
  • Attend and contribute to the OJL Team/Parent Information Meeting.
  • Coordinates with the Executive Director and Operations Director on Rosters, Nationals Applications, and Nationals Binders.
  • Works with Operations Director on Tryouts, Budget, Registration Payments, and Fundraising.
  • Ensures Player, Volunteer, and Coach compliance. (Safesport, Screening, CEP, etc.)
  • Organize and assist with the implementation of the OJL home games.
  • Organize and assist with the OJL Senior Night
  • Organize and assist with OJL Philanthropy activities.
  • Organize and oversee the OJL end-of-season banquet.
  • Organize and oversee the OJL end-of-season awards.


Girls Commissioner

  • Reports To: Operations Director
  • Responsibilities:
  • Promote growth of girls’ hockey programs.
  • Assists with the Girls’ Try Hockey For Free day. 
  • Assist Operations Director and Hockey Director with team formation and scheduling.
  • Advocate for resources and opportunities for female athletes.
  • Serve as liaison between the Girls Program, Executive team and Board.
  • Serves as the OHC representative to the Midwest Girls Committee and League.
  • Assists Hockey Director with coach selection.
  • Assists the Operations Director with Coach and Volunteer compliance.
  • Attend and assist at the Girls Tryouts and Evaluation Skates.
  • Attend and contribute to the Girls Hockey Town Hall Meeting.
  • Organize and assist with the implementation of the Girls Senior Night game.

Coordinate with coaches and families.
